Consulting

Kevin Nichol stepped into the world of Safety and Human Resources in the mid 90's when the company he was working for experienced a fatality and a labour drive all in the same year.  He developed a safety program and cut his teeth in the halls and the court rooms of the BC labour board, working out of the offices of lawyers on Georgia Street in Vancouver, sitting across tables from union reps, and working as a chief negotiator in collective bargaining.  Both as a consultant and a working HR/Safety Manager, he spent the next 15 years fine-tuning safety programs, performing disability management, inspections, investigations, audits and various assessments as well as working with  collective agreements.  His experience includes developing employee policies, procedures, recruiting, hiring, disciplining, terminating and dealing with employee issues such as attendance managment, drug and alcohol issues, work performance reviews, etc.
Beginning in 2000, he also began going to BCIT and UBC to get his certificate in Human Resources and by 2009 he was a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) and a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP). Kevin is currently a full time Safety and Human Resources Consultant working from his home base near Nelson BC.
