I grew up outrunning the local black bears and that was TO the huckleberry patch. There are few summer activities I like better than taking a truckload of kids, fishing poles and berry buckets up a logging road and seeing how many buckets we can bring home...
And now, I have added the ability to make fresh huckleberry, wild raspberry, wild current and elder berry jellies to my list of hobbies. It was a great Christmas for me and one I was especially proud of as I handed out hand-carved wooden spoons, various bottles of jelly, and hand sewn gift bags with coffee, my own shakenbake mixes and also a baking powder biscuit/pancake/crepe mix.
